Mangel seems like a cruel surname. It's meaning is privation, which is
a state in which things that are essential for human well-being such as food and warmth are scarce or lacking. If the name seems strange and inarticulate, that is probably because it is. The name Mangel was a German invention that came about when surnames became mandatory. Government workers at the time, overwhelmed with creating names for those that had none designated, filled in randomly selected words from the language. Mangel was a name no one ever requested, as empty in meaning as it was in history.

But, privation, at it's root, has a more fitting meaning for the Jester Prince. The original Latin privatio means a taking away. Much like the LCFR he was born of, it was in his namesake that he would be the one to capture lost elemental clusters and deposit them. In some interpretations, Mangel actually has something in common with the name Jacob, a challenging name to fully grapple with the meaning of, as well (deceiver, leader or supplementor, depending on your interpretation).

Hanover Ambrose defined names like this as Digitalis, derived from the plant commonly known as Foxglove. Every part of the plant is poisonous for human consumption, but, harnessed carefully, Foxglove can becomes digoxin, a drug essential in the treatment of several cardiovascular disorders. Digitalis also derives from the Latin digit (finger, toe). In the context of Foxglove it comes from the digital nature of the flowers, but, for Ambrose, the metaphor stems from Kaballistic practice. The fingers have the power to channel divine intention, or condemnation. In the same fashion, these names can be wielded as curses or as destinies.

These splits in meaning are how I know that Marcel was born of LCFR. He never had a formed identity, even before he professionally took up the practice of Mimicry. Mimicry is all there is for something that never existed in the first place. He could become anything, because he truly started of nothing. He was born of privation, but, he chose to wield that privation for a greater good.

Marceau on the other hand is simply translated to mean Hammer. A hammer is equally digitalous as the name Mangel, as a hammer is both used for careful creation and rapid destruction. But, as I researched his namesake more, the most obvious thing about his name revealed itself to me. Marcel is derived from the name Marcus, which many people believe to be derived from the Greek god:

Mars.

Marcel, beyond simply sounding like Mars Hell, literally means Born of Mars. Some interpret this metaphorically, meaning Born of War, which, in the case of Marcel Marceau, this is true, however, in this case, I am beginning to believe that Marcel was literally born of Mars, the planet. And if Marcel could be born of Red Celestial, sent to the Blue, it follows that there could be many others.
